During the four weeks of July 2012, I was engaged in the first ‘intensive’ month of my Low Residency Masters of Applied Arts Degree at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
For every half hour that I was conscious during this period, I recorded a three-digit code that represented my current state-of-being. Occasionally I would instead record a ten-second video-and-sound clip facing in a random direction.
I used a simple algorithm to turn the three-digit codes into colours, then combined them with the sound and video to create a time-based video clip to represent each day.
Please listen with sound.
